After several years of exploration in drawing and painting, in 1997 Denise Faucher achieved a certificate of fine arts at UQAM. She perfected her approach through creativity workshops with Seymour Segal and collagraphy with Nicole Brunet. She was given a mention by the jury during the week of visual arts at Mont-Tremblant in 2006. As she was fascinated by the fingerprints and traces left by men and animals from prehistoric times, Denise Faucher explored the theme of the prehistoric art, caves and fossils. In her quest for depths, her creations are shifting towards artefacts using fabric, rope, various collages and acrylic gels to create unusual textures that remind us of wrecks and seabeds.
